Description

L'Olivella is a small farmhouse set in quiet position, surrounded by trees. The location is very convenient, only 12 kms from the long, sandy beaches of Versilia, with their many facilities, and also famous for night life and good restaurants. It is also only 8 kms from the nearest motorway exit, making it a good base for exploring Tuscany. The medieval town of Lucca is only 15 kms away and Florence is reachable in approximately an hours drive. The accommodation is very comfortable with each bedroom having its own bathroom. A particularly nice feature of the house is the front patio, covered by a wisteria-clad pergola, and furnished for dining outdoors. A swimming pool (11X4,5) has been installed in a sunny position at the side of the house. The resident guardians live in a separate part of the property, with their own entrance.

If you're looking for the true Tuscan experience, this is it! Nestled into the hillside of a small local village, you get the real feeling of old Tuscany. Walking distance to great coffee bar and small grocery. Also close driving to several larger towns with a selection of wonderful restaurants, and a short drive to outstanding beaches with all the tourist facilities and amenities, if that's what you're after.

Beautiful villa with enough space for the 7 of us. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets and pillows if needed. The bathrooms were fine - all were working well. Lots of water pressure and hot. The property was maintained beautifully and the housekeeper came twice during the week with were there. The area was absolutely beautiful. However, if you have a large van the roads seem a little small. The road is winding up the hill but once you arrive you just don't want to leave. Dining al fresco was so relaxing but there was the occasional mosquito. The pool was very clean and the position allowed for a beautiful view of the mountains. Small village, narrow roads but convenient to autostrada and easy access to sightseeing in Lucca, Florence, Cinque Terra, Portofino, etc. Walter was very nice and made us feel welcomed. He stopped by to check to see if we needed anything and to clean the pool. My husband and I relaxed the entire week by the pool. However our son and his family went sightseeing everyday. There was a great restaurant that is a must to go to. Seating is outside and when it gets dark they show old movies on the outside walls. The restaurant overlooks the city and the view is amazing.
