Description
Située en collines, à 15 km au sud-est de Lucca, cette propriété offre une vue fantastique sur la campagne et la plaine de Montecatini au loin. Entouré d'oliveraies et de pins, cet ancien fenil, qui a été récemment réaménagé en delicieux cottage est un véritable hâvre de paix. La maison et son délicieux jardin sont exceptionnellement bien tenus par les propriétaires, qui se sont attachés à en faire un lieu de charme. Joliment aménagés, ses interieurs sont dotés de tout le confort moderne. Une petite maison d'invités, située à 20 m de l'ancien fenil porte à huit personnes la capacité d'accueil de Al Mennuci, elle se compose d'une chambre double avec une salle de bain. L'espace où a été installée la piscine (9x4,5m) s'intègre parfaitement dans le paysage, construit sur l'un des côtés de la maison, il dispose d'une douche extérieure, d'un barbecue en pierre, d'un four à pizza et d'une aire pour les repas.

We had a fantastic time at Al Mennucci! Right from the start - the instructions to get to this Villa were fantastic - very detailed. As Al Mennucci is a bit hard to find (quite isolated and quiet - a good thing) having these instructions where extremely valuable. The road up to Al Mennucci is very rough - you definitely need a good vehicle. Once there - the villa is everything you see in the photos. The pool is wonderful. We used the Outdoor Wood or Coal Burning BBQ every night. All beds and all rooms are nice. The Kitchen is extremely well equipped. The villa is incredibly clean and neat - and someone comes every Mon,Wed and Fri to clean up. After you drive down the hill to the main road - there are good and inexpensive restaurants within a 5min drive as well as a well stocked grocery store (a EuroSpar). We had a fantastic time - and we are already planning our trip for next year. Thank you Al Mennucci!

Tolle Lage mit einem wunderschönen Blick in die Weite. Das Haus liegt sehr romantisch auf einer Anhöhe, die Naturstrasse ist für geübte Fahrer kein Problem, Geländewagen bevorzugt. Sehr ruhig und mit allem Komfort ausgestattet. Anfang Oktober konnte man den Pool noch benutzen. Wir haben die Ruhe und die Freiheit mit unseren Hunden sehr genossen. Die Inhaberin ist überaus freundlich und hat sogar für uns eingekauft und gekocht, Italienisch Kentnisse sind von Vorteil. Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert.

all in all it was a great holiday. we have come back relaxed and tanned (but not tanned for long given the weather here!). feedback as requested: 1. al mennucci: we would rent it again, certainly, and recommend to friends. a few notes/comments: the road up is definitely rough but the view is worth it. nearest neighbour has a dog which sounded/looked aggressive (not sure if this is reality or just appearances) which limited us from doing many walks up/down the hill. mosquitoes are definitely an issue - comes with remote/wooded location - but can be managed with citronella/etc. may be worth noting this so people can come prepared. chlorine in pool was very strong and all my three kids did not want to swim by the end of the week due to skin rashes, etc. - may be a note to paola to see if she can use something not quite as a strong. and utilities - we lost power and water for 4 hours one day due to city works, and lost water two other times for about 1 hour each - i think this is just the way it is in italy but worth noting. but, on the whole, this is a quality property and we preferred it to the one we rented in provence last year - even though it was much smaller. this is certainly a family home, and feels like it - paola was there every day checking on us and making sure we were okay, she was lovely to the kids and it really felt like we were in italy and not just another hotel room. and she was able to tell us what was going on with the utilities within 30 minutes of ringing the Salogi office, which was very prompt. her english is about as good as my italian (i.e. not so good), but somehow we managed and even had a few laughs! one last note: the location is perfect - everything within reach. florence 40 mins, lucca 20 mins, pisa 40 mins, cinque terre 2 hours. we did all this and still managed to relax! and the eurospar was only a few minutes down the road which was great for filling the fridge.

What a view. Yes, do not take a low rider to this location however we did have a front wheel drive Fiat wagon and did not have a problem. The villa was immaculate and we would recommend it to anyone wanting an out of the way spot to vacation. We used this villa to stage many day trips. Paula our hostess was only seen on the first and last day but came and cleaned several times. We were very satisfied.
