During the past few years Pisa has been hosting several attracting exhibitions of modern artists, such as Chagall, Miro and Picasso. The exhibitions are held in the beautiful “Palazzo Blu”, on the Arno River, which is a very suggestive location. Until February 3rd it will be possible to attend a new exhibition of one of the most famous abstract maître: Wassily Kandinsky. Approximately 50 paintings of the Russian painter, coming directly from the San Petersburg Museum of Art, are showing some of the best and most interesting works of Kandinsky between 1901 (when he started painting) and 1922 (when he left the URSS).
The exhibition is correlated by a number of other events like encounters, discussions, concerts, events for children and so on.
This may be an opportunity for taking a short winter break and visit Tuscany in a lovely and fascinating time such are the Christmas holidays or immediately after, in a less frenetic time, maybe staying in a country holiday home in Tuscany, where to appreciate the authentic charm of a landscape full of cypress trees, foggy fields and some sites as the Val d’Orcia are really a dreamlike experience in this time of the year.
