The Naples and Sorrento Gulfs are famous worldwide for the beauty of pretty locations such as Positano, Ischia and Capri. This region is able to offer unforgettable sceneries, folkloristic journeys and unbelievable tastes, all under a permanent vivid sun. But the area is also rich, out of the beaten itineraries, of secret spots where nature is the most relevant appeal. Between the Gulf of Salerno and Naples there are winding walks where the beauty of the mountain meets the spectacularity of a blue sea. The Lattari Mountains are crossed by many wild trails, even not too difficult to do (the only equipment you will need are a bottle of water and a pair of walking boots). Among the best places to visit there is certainly Il sentiero degli dei (path of the Gods) , name given by the outstanding scenery en route. The ideal for walkers should be to walk from Agerola to Nocelle, as this way the route is a gentle downhill one, with breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri. Another suggestion is the Baia di Leranto, a simply divine path smothered with masses of Mediterranean wild flowers and photogenic views. The walk could include the Torre dello ziro – an ancient watchtower between Ravello and Amalfi, an idyllic place filled of legendary histories – and end to Punta Campanella, the extremity of the Peninsula Sorrentina. The experience of this kind of walks is unforgettable. Walkers will be able to smell lemon orchards and little vegetable patches stolen from the slope, past ancient hermitages and convents, reaching touching outlooks which will steal your hearth. To recover from the beautiful but arduous walks there is always the comfort of a cherish – thus alternative – accommodation, as it might be a hillside villa with a terraced garden in sheer drop over the sea. Amazing.
