Guest Reviews for Molino Santa Lucia
Very charming and spacious. The position just a few mintues away from San Gimignano make it a special place. We do recommend it!
Zalig huisje! Ongelofelijk vriendelijke huishoudster, zeer discreet, maar ook zeer behulpzaam. *** Lovely cottage! Incredibly friendly housekeeper, very discreet, but also very helpful.
What a fantastic holiday.very easy to book and the service provided was excellent.villa was superb and location outstanding.we would have absolutely no hesitation in using Salogi again and would highly recommend them.all in all a sensational holiday in a sensational villa.everthing in the villa was 1st class, the surrounds perfect and the peace and quite even better.thanks again Salogi you made our holiday very easy.
we would love to thank you and your company for the outstanding stay we had in the villa. It can sometimes be a gamble living so far away and booking accommodation, but this villa was truly outstanding and was presentation plus. A big thanks to Lorena and and Paola(sorry if i spelt it wrong)This couple were amazing and very professional. Please thank the owner on our behalf as this was the best holiday and location we have had.
Beautiful House in secluded location. Great service from Lorena. She is a great cook !
We stayed at the Molino begin July this year. It absolutely is a great place. Tranquility guaranteed as there is no cellphone coverage there, unless you walk up the road a little :o) (there is WiFi though) The house was as expected when we got there: nice and tidy. everything is being taken care of. Lorena who's in charge of the house showed us around and answered our question. If you don't feel like cooking some day, you can rely on her skills. She's a great cook! The house is very cool, even in the hottest hours of the day. The pool is nice and clean and divinely fresh. In the evening, if you're there at the right season, you can enjoy a superb firefly lightshow. And if you're a little adventurous, there is a little gem to be discovered.
We were so lucky to find such a beautiful, peaceful place
I had one of my best holidays in villa Molino Santa Lucia. The location, the house, and the nature were the perfect ingredients for a relaxing Tuscan holiday. The villa is very close to San Gimignano town where there is a nice supermarket and the best gelato in the world. Very easily you can drive to Florence, Pisa and Siena. Sometimes if we were too tired to cook we asked Lorena to cook for the 6 of us. She is a brilliant and friendly chef. Having Lorena the first night we got there was a nice little treat after the exhausting journey. The villa is big and there is a small grill for BBQ. We spent most of the time on the comfortable lounge chairs near the pool. There is also a ping-pong table and a small useful library with travelling books, so if you forget to buy a guide book don’t worry, there are many there. The only bad thing was the steep dirt road between the gate and the villa. Driving up sometimes was a challenge. The nature really impressed me. The flowers and the insects of the garden added bright colours to the green of the little wood that surrounds the house. Valeria A. -London, UK
Published comment: I loved this villa! It is very private & rustic in a good way. It does not have a view but is quite lovely just the same. The long gravel road to get to it is challenging but it was worth it. Being so close to San Gimignano is a plus & we drove to surrounding towns every day as well as started our trip in Venice. I think the value on this villa is excellent & it will sleep 7 easily plus three children. We had two couples with tons of room. The cook we had for two nights, Lorena, is just lovely & the food was delicious. Her husband Paolo was wonderful, too. When we arrived late on saturday evening, she had the house open, lights on & an aromatic Tuscan meal with wines prepared for us. What a way to end a long day of driving & start a vacation in the Tuscan countryside. They were so great to work with & it was nice to have a local couple to contact in case of any need. The villa has everything you would need except a coffee maker! That needs to be remedied! We made some sort of instant coffee every morning! Not the good Italian coffee we planned on! The only negative I can think of is this villa does not have a bathroom downstairs! Other than that, really a fun time for us. Annie L., Charlotte, NC
A beautiful house both inside and out. The renovation has been done in exceptionally good taste. The large downstairs lounge areas is especially charming. The house is situated in very attractive, lush and quiet surroundings at the end of a 1 1/2 km drive on gravel road. It is also a very easy drive to Sam Gimignano, Volterra, Siena etc. All in all perfect! And it was a useful opportunity to learn to make superior espresso on the stove top coffee pot and use the ice cream machine to make gelato. Thanks a lot! Cass & Jesper (Sydney, Australia)
It was wonderful to have this haven as a base to explore the picture postcard scenery of Tuscany. There's lovely walking paths to watch wild life and a sparkly pool; it was great to look out of windows and see green all around
We stayed at Molino Santa Lucia in late August, early September 2011 (4 adults and 2 children, 6 and 8). It suffices to only say that we had a wonderful time. Immediately prior to travelling we discovered some very unflattering Dutch reviews. On seeing those, we contacted the agent (Salogi) who re-assured us that the property was of a very good standard. They were right. All of us loved it. The kids swam, played table tennis and chess and went for wanders every day (although they were heedful of the warning about snakes, and we did see one in the forest). The location is idyllic, at least a kilometre from the other nearest residence. the only draw back of this is one is not included (if you enjoy your wine too much!) to venture out for meals in the evening. However, as lunching in Tuscany is excellent and the kitchen at the villa perfectly good, this didn't worry us at all. One part of the driveway is fairly loose gravel on an incline, but good gear choice makes this okay. The house-keeper (Paolo I think, but my memory has dulled), had the place in perfect cleanliness when we arrived (no mean feat considering this is a pretty big property). Next time we will ask him and his wife to cook a meal for us. All in all, we had a perfect week at Molino Santa Lucia and highly recommend it. I miss it terribly! (copied by tripadvisor)
We have just arrived home after a 28 hour journey and we're completely wrecked!! Thank you for the exquisite villa at Molino Santa Lucia - it was quite incredible and I think for me the most beautiful place I've ever been! We all planned on doing much more sight-seeing than we did as we did not want to leave the pool and beautiful gardens!! Paolo and Lorena were just fantastic too, so thank you so much! We're already talking about next time! Kind regards Donna
