Casa dei Cipressi is a comfortable country house with private swimming pool set in an extremely panoramic position overlooking the beautiful plain of Cortona. The views can be enjoyed from many comfortable spots in the garden, equipped by the owners to enable travellers to fully enjoy their holiday here and get away from the 'usual' daily life. Cortona can be reached by walking through a lovely 45-minute country path. This charming village (10 minutes drive) is set on a hillside overlooking placid Lake Trasimeno and became a popular destination for travelers after Francis Mayes' “Under the Tuscan Sun” book - and subsequent film - came out. Lake Trasimeno can be reached by car in less than 20 minutes.

Cortona makes a great home base because clients get to live the small-town experience while enjoying the Tuscan Region. From Cortona clients can easily reach the major art cities of Siena and Arezzo (40 minutes), the well-known cheese and wine towns Pienza and Montepulciano (even closer), and two different thermal baths at Chianchiano or Rapolano. Furthermore, there is an extensive list of small towns in the area worth a visit such as San Giovanni d'Asso and its truffle museum, Castiglione d'Orcia, Buonconvento, or Castiglione Fiorentino.

Past clients have particularly enjoyed dining under a large pergola where there is a large built-in barbecue, having a glass of wine at sunset at the sitting area in front of the house, as well as relaxing by the swimming pool which is on a different level from the house or playing at ping pong (table tennis) under the shade.

The property can host up to 10 people : 6 in the main house and 4 in the guest house. In the main house the bedrooms are on the first floor. There is a large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and two spacious bedrooms (one twin and one double) sharing a bathroom.
The guest house has a complete independent entrance. Here there are two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and equipped with air-conditioning.

Casa dei Cipressi is ideal for sport lovers. It is easy to reach a few great golf courses (Golf Club Lamborghini , Golf Club Perugia golf and La Bagnaia Golf & Spa Resort) and equestrian centres from the house.
Cortona is a great destination for those looking to hike during their holidays as there are many paths around the town.
