Villa Cenami Spada - Lucca

Villa Cenami Spada: main entrance and dining area

Both Villa Cenami Spada and San Tommaso are located in the Lucca area. Lucca is a charming town in the northern part of Tuscany, known for its entirely preserved mediaeval walls, beautiful churches ( it is also called the town of the 100 churches), and its elegant style.

If you want to learn more about this beautiful town, we’ve recently published the Ultimate Guide to Lucca, which is packed with helpful travel information, advice and resources.

Our first new property in the area is Villa Cenami Spada, an historical Tuscan villa with a private pool. It is set in a panoramic position between Lucca and the Versilia coast - Lucca’s coastal area is particularly famous for its long beaches and vibrant nightlife.

Villa Cenami Spada is the perfect summer home thanks to its large century-old lime tree in front of the house, guaranteeing a gentle but constant fresh breeze. This spot under the lime tree is ideal for enjoying lunch, reading a book, or just relaxing with your family and friends.

Villa Cenami Spada Living Room

This 18th-century summer residence is also listed in the Associazione Ville e Palazzi Lucchesi, an association that brings together the most important historical villas in Lucca.

Villa Cenami Spada has all the features of a classic Tuscan villa - beamed ceiling, terracotta floors, etc. - while being furnished with all the needed modern comforts. It is ideal for families or groups (up to 11 people) looking to spend time together: there are several seating areas, both inside and outside, enabling guests to spend time together and, of course, the beautiful pool, perfect for cooling off during the hot summer days.

Villa Cenami Spada Swimming Pool

This property is ideally located for those looking to relax in the countryside as well as being able to visit Tuscany and its attractions. Furthermore, there is a small country village approximately a 10-minute drive from the house, and the surrounding countryside is perfect for trekking and cycling.

San Tommaso - Lucca

Villa San Tommaso: exterior, garden and swimming-pool

In the same area as Villa Cenami Spada, just on the opposite side of the valley, we have San Tommaso, a beautiful country home set in a secluded and panoramic position. The view can be thoroughly enjoyed from the terrace in front of the house, where there is a dining table for al fresco meals, and from the newly built swimming pool.

The property takes its name from the adjacent Romanic church, which is used just once a year to celebrate the patron saint.

San Tommaso Bedroom

The house has been recently totally restored with great attention to detail and furnished with all the needed comforts, including modern private bathrooms for each bedroom. The layout of the house is perfect for groups of friends looking to spend time together while retaining their privacy.

The caretaker of San Tommaso lives at the rear of the building - she has separate access and in no way interferes with the client's privacy - and is available to support clients during their vacation. In addition, the owners have been successfully renting out another property for years, are very familiar with clients' needs, and are very happy to assist them.

Podere Bernesca - Val d’Orcia

Podere Bernasca: Suggestive views from garden and pool

Podere Bernesca is a stunning property set in the heart of the Val d’Orcia, a protected area located in the South of Tuscany, between Siena, Mount Amiata and Umbria; it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful places in the region. Its landscapes that transmit peace embody the Tuscan countryside’s most iconic image: rolling hills, farmhouses and ancient villages, cypresses and poppies sprouting from wheat fields. One of its most known towns is Montalcino, where the famous red wine comes from.

The infinity (and heated) pool of Podere Bernesca is the perfect spot to enjoy the magical landscape of Val d’Orcia, as the property is located within an undisturbed wildlife area. Nature and fauna lovers will be able to see some rare species of wildlife and listen to the nightingale sing in the evening.

Podere Bernesca Kitchen

The interior of this country house is exceptionally charming, furnished with impeccable taste and well-organised. The ground floor, in particular, has a big open space that includes a kitchen, a large dining table, two sitting areas opening onto the garden, and a covered terrace equipped for al-fresco dining. A second sitting room with a fireplace that can be also accessed  from the garden is located on the first floor.

The house has been furnished with many comforts, such as air-conditioning in all rooms, a well-equipped kitchen, a gym, modern bathrooms, etc.

Despite its secluded position, Podere Bernesca is a short driving distance from shops, restaurants and wineries. In less than a half an hour’s drive, it is possible to visit some of the most charming and renowned villages of Tuscany, such as Buonconvento, Montalcino, Pienza, San Quirico d’Orcia and the thermal town of Bagno Vignoni.

The property is also very close to Castiglion del Bosco Estate, where the guests will find two restaurants: Campo del Drago (one Michelin star) and Osteria La Canonica. The Estate also has a superb cellar. Visits are on appointment only.

Finally, in all three properties, it is possible to arrange catering services and cooking classes.
